This opportunity is designed for projects that have the potential to overturn fundamental paradigms or create groundbreaking clinical approaches and technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scope<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative focuses on high-risk, high-reward research broadly relevant to the NIH mission, including basic, translational, or clinical research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Projects must demonstrate compelling potential to produce a major impact on a broad area of relevance to the NIH.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No detailed experimental plan or substantial preliminary data should be provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Research can involve basic, translational, or clinical studies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applications are open to a wide variety of domestic organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Public and Private Institutions of Higher Education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nonprofits with or without 501(c)(3) IRS Status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Small Businesses and For-Profit Organizations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Local and Federal Government Agencies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partnership<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Collaborative investigative teams or individual scientists (Single or Multiple PD\/PIs) are encouraged to apply.
