Accelerating Youth Mental Health Solutions: NIH PAR-25-310

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has released funding opportunity PAR-25-310, focusing on Accelerating Solutions to Improve Access and Quality of Empirically-Supported Practices for Youth Mental Health. This R01 grant seeks to bridge the critical gap between evidence-based treatments and the youth who need them most.

Scope

The scope of this funding encompasses research addressing systemic and service-level barriers to mental health care. NIMH is particularly interested in projects that integrate prevention and treatment into real-world settings, such as schools, pediatric medicine, and community organizations.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to a wide range of domestic entities in the United States, including higher education institutions, nonprofits, state and local governments, and community-based organizations. Non-domestic (foreign) entities are not eligible to apply directly.

Partnership

Collaborations that bridge clinical settings and community resources are highly encouraged. Partnerships addressing rural communities, or involving diverse stakeholders like juvenile justice and social services, will be particularly competitive to build workforce capacity.

  • Address workforce shortages and administrative waitlists.
  • Develop decision-support tools using predictive analytics, machine learning, and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Enhance continuity in youth mental health care across critical developmental transitions.
  • Design navigator interventions to facilitate help-seeking and shared decision-making.

Deadlines: Standard R01 deadlines apply, with upcoming new application cycles falling on October 5.
