The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced the PRIMED-AI Data-to-Model Academic-Industrial Partnerships (D2M-AIP) opportunity. This initiative aims to revolutionize healthcare by bridging clinical imaging and multimodal data.
Scope
The overarching goal of the PRIMED-AI program is to develop innovative, reliable, cost-effective, and sustainable multimodal AI-based clinical decision support (CDS) tools. By integrating clinical imaging with diverse multimodal health data, these tools will enhance patient care across a wide range of health conditions and catalyze the clinical adoption of AI technologies (Topol, E. J. “High-performance medicine: the convergence of human and artificial intelligence.” Nature Medicine 25.1 (2019): 44-56).
Eligibility
This cooperative agreement (RFA-RM-27-012) is broadly accessible to diverse organizations:
- Government entities (state, county, city, tribal).
- Higher education institutions (public and private).
- Nonprofits (with or without 501(c)(3) status).
- Businesses (small and large for-profit organizations).
- Foreign organizations and international collaborations.
Partnership
This funding specifically encourages academic-industrial partnerships to translate data into impactful clinical models. Up to 8 awards are expected to be granted.
